No previous experience required.
The Band and Bugles are always on the lookout for both skilled and novice musicians. Cadet and Adult musicians play a variety of instruments including brass, percussion and reed instruments whilst practising regularly at our Band and Bugles Detachment in Shrewsbury. The Band and Bugles regularly provide musical entertainment at many high profile events not only in Shropshire but in the UK and even abroad.
We are at present looking to recruit cadets from 12 (Year 8) - 17 years of age and adults both male and female and we offer them a constructive, confidence building experience that is also a lot of fun. The Band and Bugles are a full Military Marching Band which we give full tuition to, both as a beginner or advanced player and it is an excellent way for youngsters to learn and perform music without the pressure to be perfect straight away.
In addition to traditional Band instruments we are also looking to teach cadets one of the following alternative instruments Bugle, Side Drum, and Fife/Flute.
As well as playing instruments, you will have the opportunity to do adventure training, shooting, D of E. You even get a chance to get a BTEC 1st Diploma in Music, equivalent to 4 GCSE A to C level.
We Meet at Copthorne Barracks (TA Centre) every Monday and Wednesday between 7:30pm and 9:30pm.
